Lovebirds: Amanda & David

09:13

Our first scheduled pre-wedding shoot with Amanda and David had to be called off due to the snow dump that hit most of the UK, but we rescheduled just after Christmas, crossing our fingers there would still be a snowy landscape to shoot in.  On the day however, with the grey clouds above, and the once crisp white snow now looking more like brown sludge, I will admit I was a little worried.

When a text from Amanda and David said that the M25 was gridlocked and they would be late, I worked hard to stop the panic from setting in.  One shoot was already cancelled, and now that they were half way here, braving through the post-Christmas traffic, we have to make it work!  The pep talk worked so long as I didn't stare out of the pub window for too long watching the fading Winter light...

An hour after we had initially arranged to meet, Amanda and David pulled up.  Bless them; exhausted and hungry after the unexpected delays, there was no time for food or even a drink, but Amanda and David were real troopers.   And, despite losing a good hour of the light, their love managed to shine through and win the day ;)

As things stand at the moment, Amanda and David kick off our 2011 wedding season with their breakfast ceremony at Stonehenge; needless to say - we can't wait!

Lovebirds: Mel & Mark

17:44

Okay, so I am excited before every wedding we shoot.
That's a good thing though, right?
Well, I think so, and I'm excited!

Mel and Mark are getting married next Friday.
There's a Georgian House, a Routemaster and a cool Britannia pub involved.
Oh. My. God. How amazing is it going to be!

We met up with Mel and Mark last weekend to get to know each other and take some pre-wedding shots which I've used to compile into an interactive guest book.

Ever since I first came across this idea I've been wanting to put together a sample book, and well, Mel and Mark's groovy style gave me the perfect opportunity.  I just think it's such a fabulous way of showing off your pre-wedding pictures and gathering some well meaning sentiments and advice on your big day!

Anyway, here are some more images from the stylish couple.
Roll on next week...

Sneak Peek: Mel & Mark

Mel and Mark are getting married in just under 2 weeks.
Mel is a fashion editor and Mark owns a record label.
Now is this going to be a rockin' wedding or what!

Sneak Peek: Louise & Russ

22:42

Managed to squeeze in an engaged Lovebirds photo shoot this afternoon with Louise and Russ.
We decided, at the last minute, to meet in Woodstock and took pictures in the grounds of Blenheim Palace.
It was perfect.
They were perfect.

Lovebirds: Hannah & Nick

16:07

Hannah and Nick are getting married THIS Friday!  So we managed to grab an hour last week to get together and shoot a few pre-wedding snaps.  After all, by the weekend, Hannah Johnson will be no more - she will be Mrs Liebmann!

Once again the weather was taunting us: am I, aren't I going to rain?
Once again we have the best couple to work with.  Rain?  No worries.
Once again I was wishing for a thunderstorm :)

As you can see, just from these shots alone, Hannah will be the most gorgeous bride.  I've also been privy to some details about her dress, and let's just say: ooh la la, someone is going to look stunning!  There is a real vintage and eclectic feel to the whole day, and we are so excited to capture it!

Hannah and Nick, thank you for trusting us with your Big day.
We cannot wait.
See you Friday!
xo

Lovebirds: Stacey & Luke

11:52

Stacey and Luke are getting married later this month and I cannot begin to tell you how excited we are about the wedding.  Suffice to say this is one fun loving couple and their big day will no doubt reflect this!  Add to the mix the fact that they are ridiculously good looking - you are talking about a wedding photographers dream :)

Like most people though, being in front of a camera is not the easiest thing for them; and although activities on the day might distract them from the lenses in their midst, a pre-wedding shoot is a fun way of getting used to the camera - and us!

On the day itself, after a spate of glorious sunny days, dark clouds were looming on the horizon.
"How game are you and Luke about taking some rain soaked love shots?" I emailed Stacey.
"Rain soaked Love shots sounds like fun!!!" she fired back.
I know!  Could they be any more perfect?
I was actually a little disappointed the storm didn't transpire after all, and instead we had the typically insipid and temperamental British weather, but Stacey and Luke lit up the camera regardless.

One of the things we really loved about the shoot with Stacey and Luke is what a laugh they have with each other.  Real life childhood sweethearts (they got together on a school day trip when they were 15, and as Stacey says, "Luke was the hottest guy in school.") they are so comfortable and at ease with each other.

Stacey and Luke, thanks for spending a couple of hours with us last week, and we cannot wait to see you again on your big day :)
